Hi, I'm Ariela
I received my Kallah Teacher training through an extremely comprehensive 70-hour course at The Eden Center. I have also been married for almost 22 years and have three children.
I provide Jewish marriage and intimacy education through a centrist/modern orthodox lens. I look forward to learning with you as your Jewish marriage and intimacy educator as you prepare to enter, or continue, a Jewish marriage.
My teaching goals and philosophy
With a background in communications, psychology, and Jewish education, I believe every kallah and couple deserves to start their marriage with the tools for happiness, good health, effective communication, and a feeling of safety and respect. And that every kallah deserves to learn in the best way for her, whether that is customizing the content to her situation or tailoring the teaching methods to her learning style or needs. Education
Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology
2010
After earning a Ph.D. at the University of Miami, I worked for several years in educational research in the areas of early childhood and STEM. Eventually, in 2014 my focus area shifted to research an evaluation in Jewish education and engagement and I have been enjoying the field ever since. This path encouraged me to become an educator myself, and for a cohort that often lacks a formal Jewish education system - brides of all ages and backgrounds.
Bachelor's in Journalism/Public Relations
2000
My public relations training emphasized two-way communication, which is important in any relationship - organization and stakeholder, friendships, parent and child, and husband and wife. After my gap year in Israel working with children in a center for at-risk youth and on a kibbutz, and as a counselor at summer Jewish camp, I added a Child and Family Studies minor, intending to eventually return to school to study child and adolescent development more in-depth.
